Ellsworth’s active shooter exercise scheduled to test 28th Bomb Wing
ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. — An active shooter exercise will be conducted on Ellsworth Air Force Base, evaluating the units response to an active shooter incident.
According to 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs, this is a routine exercise that occurs at select times throughout the year. The entire base is involved in the training.
During the exercise, individuals nearby the base may hear announcements over the ‘giant voice’ system, sirens, emergency vehicles, and simulated gunfire.
The 28th Bomb Wing will be performing the active shooter exercise Jan. 27-31, expect delays entering and exiting the base during this time.
