Ellsworth B-1B visits Saudi Arabian air base

SAUDI ARABIA — B-1B Lancers from Ellsworth Air Force Base landed at the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

The B-1Bs were greeted by members of the Royal Saudi Air Force. U.S. Central Command said in a Facebook post Friday that the landing demonstrates the base’s ability to receive, launch and recover combat missions from a variety of aircraft.

The B-1B is a long-range craft capable of flying across continents without refueling. The landing came after a direct flight from Ellsworth Air Force Base.
