Ellsworth arranging major accident response exercise

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. — Ellsworth AFB will be conducting an accident response exercise Tuesday, March 3 through Friday, March 6.

The exercise is intended to enhance the ability of the 28th Bomb Wing to respond to an aircraft crash.

During the exercise, individuals who live around the Air Force base or around it as well as people in the surrounding area will need to be cognizant of sounds that will come with the exercise.

Individuals may experience hearing sirens, announcements over the “giant voice” system, sirens, and seeing smoke as well as increased vehicle and air traffic.
