Ellsworth Airman dies in car accident

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. – According to a press release from the U.S. Air Force, an active-duty Airman assigned to Ellsworth Air Force Base was killed in an off-base automobile accident on March 29.

The release continued to say that U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Rueben Adam Gilbert, 25, of California, belonged to the 28th Communications Squadron.

“This is a tragedy for our wing to lose one of our own,” said Col. John Edwards, the commander of the 28th Bomb Wing and Ellsworth AFB. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved and their families. We are committed to supporting his loved ones and his fellow Airmen during this difficult time.”
