Ellsworth Air Force Base hosts annual base picnic

ELLSWORTH, AFB, S.D. – Ellsworth Air Force Base hosted its annual base picnic on Friday, which was put on by the Force Support Squadron.

More than 2000 airmen and their relatives took part in all of the activities.

Live music, bounce houses, and bubble soccer were just a few of the entertainment options, along with something new this year, a bike course.

Featured food items included hot dogs, burgers, popcorn and cotton candy.

“It’s free for any ID card holder,” said Lorie Vega, Deputy Commander of Force Support Squadron, “The popcorn is free, the cotton candy is free… everything is free”
