RAPID CITY, SD — The Elks Theatre is hosting the Fly Fishing Film Tour 2019 this February.
Doors open for the event at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13th, and the show starts at 7 p.m. There will be a raffle and prizes.
The film tour is made up of short films showcasing the sport, and is known for its inspiring stories and incredible imagery.
This year the film will feature the Black Hills Flyfishers, a local organization that has operated in the area since 1980.
Black Hills Flyfishers is an affiliate of the Federation of Fly Fishers, and is committed to protecting and improving the area’s fisheries and cold water resources.
Over its long history, the organization has invested thousands into Black Hills water sources, including $25,000 in partnership with the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks to help maintain Rapid Creek, and $50,000 to improve stream habitat below Pactola Reservoir.
They’ve also contributed to educational programs and scholarships around the area that support youth and teach people about the sport and conservation.
