Elevate hosting virtual town halls prior to June election

RAPID CITY, S.D. –Election candidates won’t be debating in person this year, but Elevate Rapid City still wants to offer candidates a platform to share their views.

Starting Monday, May 4th, Elevate Rapid City will host the first Legislature Candidate Town Hall.

This is a chance for the public to hear each candidate prior to the June 2 elections.

“We know that the more informed our constituency and our public, and really in our own interests, businesses are we can rely on them to make good decisions and put good people in office,” said Anna Hays, Public Policy Director. 

There will be several more virtual town halls hosted by Elevate Rapid City.

Candidates from Districts 30 through 35 will be participating.

Candidates will be talking about their own local issues and the response to COVID-19.

Anyone interested in participating may join Elevate’s Zoom Meeting online.

District 30 will be the first town hall:

House of Representatives – May 4th, 3 p.m.

Senate – May 4th, 4:15 p.m.
