Easter egg hunts kick off in Sturgis

STURGIS, S.D. – The Easter bunny was feeling generous Friday at the Aspen Grove Assisted Living Center in Sturgis. Over 5,000 eggs were spread throughout the center for children to gather, have a good time, and interact.

This is the 5th year that the center is hosting Easter activities. Both the residents of the center and the staff worked together to put it all together. Between decorating and filling 5,000 eggs with candy, it was a group effort.

“Our residents love kids and so the more we can get kids to come in and interact with our residents, the better it is for them. There were also photo opportunities with the Easter bunny, face painting, and of course – lots of sweet treats,” said the center’s Executive Director, Teresa Brockel.
