UPDATE: East Highway 44 near 161st Avenue reopened after house is removed from roadway
UPDATE (12:30 p.m.): Traffic has resumed on Highway 44 and 161st Street after the successful removal of a house from the road, according to a tweet from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office.

PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. — East Highway 44 near 161st Avenue is blocked after high winds caused a home being transported to blow off of a trailer.
According to a tweet from the Pennington County Sheriff, high winds and low visibility from snow have made the area hazardous, and drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
