Early schools bond voting showing heightened interest

RAPID CITY, S.D. — If early voting is any indication, the Rapid City Area Schools bond request has generated a lot of interest.

Early voting ended when the county auditor’s office closed at 5 p.m. Monday. According to County Auditor Cindy Mohler, more than 1,100 people stopped at her office to cast their vote.

That brought the early voting total to more than 7,700, and they expect more absentee ballots to arrive Tuesday.

Polls opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
