Duhamel #2 Fire 90% contained Wednesday

WALL, S.D. — The Duhamel #2 Fire is 90% contained Wednesday afternoon and is estimated at 1,000 acres in size.

The fire is located 23 miles north of Wall, South Dakota, and the call came in at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday, with federal, state and local entities attacking the blaze.

107 degrees Fahrenheit was recorded during the peak of the fire Tuesday, and it is estimated that 105-110 degrees is possible for Wednesday and Thursday for the area.

Winds out of the southeast are pushing 15-20 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 mph out of the southeast.
