UPDATE: Fatal crash victim identified in Skyline Drive rollover
UPDATE (2:40 p.m.): The victim in Wednesday’s fatal vehicle rollover in the 2000 block of Skyline Drive has been identified.
The driver has been identified as 27-year-old Kamry Prue of Rapid City. The cause of the crash is still under investigation with speed and alcohol appearing to be factors according to a release from the Rapid City Police Department.
Information on further fatalities as a result of the crash have not been released.
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Authorities are investigating a fatal vehicle rollover that took place early Wednesday morning in Rapid City.
According to the Rapid City Police Department, at around 1:30 a.m. police received a report of a single vehicle rollover crash in the 2000 block of Skyline Drive. On arrival, officers located the vehicle which had come to rest down the hill to the east of the roadway.
The four occupants of the vehicle were located, and it was determined that two had been ejected with serious injuries. The two ejected occupants of the vehicle were transported to the hospital for treatment. Police later learned that the driver of the vehicle, a female in her late 20s, died at the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the RCPD’s Critical Accident Reconstruction Team (CART). At this point in the investigation, speed and alcohol both appear to be factors in the crash.
