Downtown Ambassadors program kicks off as tourism season begins

RAPID CITY, S.D. — It’s tourist season in the Black Hills and this year Destination Rapid City introduced its Downtown Ambassadors program to the public.

The ambassadors will be all over the downtown area ready to answer questions and be a friendly face for the city.

They’ll provide information ranging from downtown restaurants, nightlife, and events happening around town.

The city says the program is an effort to get more people to visit and enjoy everything the area has to offer.

According to one ambassador, Manuel Davila, “Try Rapid City, South Dakota. It’s a friendly town, it’s a lot of fun, there’s a lot to do in the summer, so come on back.”

Ambassadors will be around all summer — you can catch them all over downtown wearing all red uniforms and hats.
