Send in your photos of the spring supermoon

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Check out some of the amazing photos our viewers sent in of last night’s supermoon!

This was the last supermoon of 2019, and could be visible Wednesday night through Thursday morning. It coincided with the spring equinox, and is the last of three supermoons that were visible this year, including one on Jan. 21 and another on Feb. 19.

A supermoon occurs when the moon happens to be full at the same time that it’s at its closest point to the Earth during its orbit.
