Diocese of Fargo priest investigated, on leave

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A priest in the Catholic Diocese of Fargo has been placed on leave while police investigate his conduct with youth.

Bishop John Folda says police informed him of some concerns regarding Father Wenceslaus Katanga’s interaction with a minor while ministering at Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo. Those concerns have not been made public.

Katanga currently serves at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wishek, St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Zeeland and St. David’s Catholic Church in Ashley. Katanga has not been charged with any wrongdoing. He did not immediately return a call for comment.
