Delta Dental mobile truck visits Rapid City, provides students with free care

RAPID CITY, S.D. — For the second time in the last few months — Delta Dental set up its mobile truck at Robbinsdale Elementary School.

The company travels around the country providing kids with dental work.

All students from Rapid City Area Schools were welcome to sign-up for dental services — which was covered via donations from Black Hills Reads, along with the United Way. Anything from a simple cleaning — to tooth extractions, crowns, and fillings.

If you’re sitting there suffering from tooth pain and it’s chronic, you’re note going to be able to focus on your academics the way you need to be,” said Kayla Klein, Black Hills Reads Director. “So, we feel it’s important to have this taken care of so the kiddos can focus on their educational journey and learning and being present in school.”

In three visits — Delta Dental is expected to provide nearly $60,000 worth of dental services to over 100 Rapid City students.
