Deadwood Mountain Grand hosting live boxing event

DEADWOOD, S.D. — The Deadwood Mountain Grand will be hosting a live Middleweight boxing event Friday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m.

The event will see undefeated Hurshidbeck Normatov go up against Derrick Colemon with a record of 13-1.

Normatov is originally from Uzbekistan and is currently fighting out of Brooklyn, New York has a 10-0 record with three KO’s, and Colemon has an impressive 13-1 record featuring nine KO’s.

Both fighters are considered championship contenders with a win in Deadwood bringing them one step closer to a title bout.

“This is real deal, live boxing featuring some of the best fighters on earth,” commented Susan Kightlinger, Deadwood Mountain Grand General Manager. “Showtime is renowned for their boxing and we’re thrilled to host fights that will be nationally televised. This event is good for the whole community.”

The event will also feature a Super Welterweight bout between Ardreal Holmes and Damian Sosa, and a Lightweight match with Luis Acosta and Edwin De Los Santos. In all, the live boxing event will consist of six bouts featuring fighters with a combined 85 wins and only four losses.

Tickets are on sale now and start at $45 with front row VIP tickets available as well, and can be purchased at or by calling 605-559-1188. It is recommended to purchase tickets early since the event is limited.
