Deadwood gaming numbers are on an upward trend with an increase in revenue

DEADWOOD, S.D. — Deadwood continues to see an increase in gaming numbers with February continuing the winning streak.

More than $8 million in revenue came in which is a 17.7 percent increase from February of 2020. Slot machines and table games both seeing gains.

Deadwood continues to see a trend of increased gaming numbers which officials attribute to an increase in tourism during the pandemic.

Executive Director of Deadwood Gaming Association, Mike Rodman said “we’ve been one of those destinations thats been more open. So we are seeing people coming from a further distance to deadwood. Governor Noems additional dollars into tourism marketing has certainly paid off for Deadwood and we’re very pleased with that.”

With more people getting the Covid-19 vaccine here and around the country, Rodman believes things will keep improving and get even more safe.

And with sports betting around the corner he says the numbers should remain on an upward trend.
