Deadwood announces second edition of largest open-air concert series
DEADWOOD, S.D. — On Friday, the city of Deadwood announced the second edition of the largest series of open-air concerts in the town’s history with the Harley-Davidson Presents Deadwood Live! 2022 Open-Air Music Series.
According to a release from the city of Deadwood, the ticketed events are estimated to attract as many as 3,500 concert-goers per performance staged at Deadwood’s new Outlaw Square on Historic Main Street.
“We are excited for this year’s line-up of performers,” Deadwood Mayor David Ruth Jr. said. “Deadwood Live has raised the caliber of entertainment once again, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to see world class performances in an intimate venue. Everyone is sure to have the memorable experiences for which Deadwood is known.”
Here is a list of all the bands that will be performing for the concert series:
- May 27 – Halestorm, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Stone Cherry
- May 28 – Hank Williams Jr.
- May 29 – Everclear, Sister Hazel, Deep Blue Something
- July 3 – Chris Young
- July 8 & 9 – Shinedown
- Sept. 2 – Gary Allen
A portion of proceeds from the performances will benefit regional charities. Last year’s inaugural concert series assisted a variety of organizations in western South Dakota including the Twin City Animal Shelter, Feeding Deadwood, the VFW Auxiliary, Northern Hills Alliance for Children, Boys & Girls Club, the Oglala Sioux Tribe, and the Deadwood Jam.
Season ticket sales will open to previous season ticket holders at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16 and to new season ticket buyers at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23. General single-show ticket sales will start at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30.
