Dani Godkin to continue playing volleyball at the next level

RAPID CITY, S.D. – November was a busy month for local student-athletes as they signed their letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level.

A senior from St. Thomas More is the latest one to make it official.

Dani Godkin recently signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Mount Marty University in Yankton.

The 5-foot-6 setter was a member of the Cavaliers volleyball team that finished 22-14 this past season and lost to Rapid City Christian in the final round of the Region 8A tournament.

She was also named All-Conference honorable mention during her junior season.

The size of the school was a big factor for Godkin when she decided to sign with Mount Marty University.

“The coach was very forward when asking me to come and practice with the girls,” said Dani Godkin. “She seemed excited about me so that made me super excited. The college itself is small and the community is nice. So I just really liked the family feel.”
