Custer State Park celebrates their annual Festival of Trees event
CUSTER, S.D. — Custer State Park is hosting its fourth annual Festival of Trees to celebrate the holiday season.
The Festival of Trees is an opportunity for local businesses, civic organizations, and individuals to display a tree at the Custer State Park Visitor Center. Participants are encouraged to decorate trees in a way that promotes their business or organization.
There is no fee to participate in the Custer State Park Festival of Trees, however to enter the park to view the trees, or take part in the hike, you must obtain an entrance license which can be purchased at the Custer State Park Office, or at the Visitor Center.
Trees may be set up beginning Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, through Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited.
Voting on trees will open Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, during the Night Tree Moon Hike and will end Jan. 1, 2020, after the First Day Hike. The tree with the most votes will earn the title “Favorite Tree” and be awarded a prize package.
