Custer Gold Discovery Day festival

CUSTER, S.D. — In the 1800s Lieutenant Colonel George Custer lead troops into the Black Hills and found gold. That area is now known as Custer.

In celebration of this historical discovery, the Chamber of Commerce hosted the Gold Discovery Day festival this past weekend. Saturday festivities kicked off with a pancakes breakfast, a car show, and a parade. Attendees were also welcome to check out hand made quilts and a flower show.

For those who are more competitive, they had a volleyball, basketball, and corn hole tournament.
