Custer fire crews fight cabin fire in sub-zero temperatures

CUSTER S.D. – At around 2 a.m. Friday, Custer Volunteer Fire Department responded to a cabin fire south of Custer. Wind chill temperatures at the time were approximately -30, according to CVFD

All occupants of the building safely exited before fire crews arrived, CVFD said.

Crews safely extinguished the fire, conducted overhaul, and cleared the scene 2 hours later.

Assisting Custer Fire Department were responders from Pringle and Argyle Volunteer Fire Department, Custer Ambulance Service, Inc. along with Custer County Sheriff and Custer County Communications.
