Crime Blotter: Here’s what was reported in Rapid City for March 1-9

RAPID CITY – The Rapid City Police Department maintains near-real-time reports of calls that they respond to. Here’s what crimes were reported in Rapid City from Wednesday, March 1, through Thursday, March 9.

The data isn’t perfect; locations are deliberately imprecise and details are sparse in order to protect the identities of victims in compliance with Marsy’s Law, as well as juvenile information which is protected by statute. And the data only reveals what crimes were reported, rather than what crimes actually occurred. That said, this crime blotter provides a quick look at crime across the city.

Wednesday, 03/01/2023

  • Three assaults reported
    • 1 at a residence at the 600 block of East Blvd at 6:41 p.m.
    • 1 at a residence at the 1200 block of East Blvd at 12:46 p.m.
    • 1 at a residence at the 2800 block of Sheridan Heights Drive at 12:26 p.m.
  • Three drugs/narcotics violations reported
    • 1 at a parking lot/garage at the 3500 block of Black Fox Drive at 5:15 p.m.
    • 1 at a school at the 1500 block of N. Maple Ave. at 1:48 p.m.
    • 1 at a school at the 400 block of N. Mount Rushmore Road at 10:29 a.m.
  • Two burglaries from motor vehicles reported
    • 1 from a parking lot/garage at the 1700 block of N. 7th St. at 11:00 p.m.
    • 1 at a residence at the 400 block of Degeest Drive at 3:57 a.m.
  • Disorderly conduct (trespassing) on public property at the 600 block of Quincy St. at 3:14 p.m.
  • Theft at the 300 block of Adams St. at 6:00 p.m.

  • Four thefts reported
    • 1 at a residence at the 700 block of Silver St. at 8:14 p.m.
    • 1 at a residence at the 700 block of Eldene Lane at 5:00 p.m.
    • 1 at the 1200 block of Concourse Drive at 11:05 a.m.
    • 1 at a gambling facility at the 700 block of N. La Crosse St. at 1:17 a.m.
  • Three assaults reported
    • 1 at a residence at the 2300 block of Wisconsin Ave. at 9:15 p.m.
    • 1 at a parking lot/garage at the 700 block of Meade St. at 7:09 p.m.
    • 1 at a residence at the 1700 block of E. Tallent St. at 12:07 a.m.
  • Two cases of disorderly conduct reported
    • 1 at a department store (fight) at the 1200 block of N. La Crosse St.
    • 1 (fight) at the 0 block of Indiana St. at 2:10 p.m.
  • Two alcohol violations reported
    • 1 at a parking lot/garage at the 1700 block of N. Maple Ave. at 8:01 p.m.

  • Two cases of vandalism reported
