Crews responding to wildfire near Jewel Cave

CUSTER COUNTY, S.D. — Crews are responding to a wildfire near Jewel Cave that’s grown to about 100 acres.

The fire is about seven miles south of Jewel Cave. It was initially reported at 12:28 p.m.

Federal, state and volunteer fire department units are currently working to contain and control it.

Authorities don’t know the initial cause of the fire at this time.
