Crews respond to water line break on Sheridan Lake Road

UPDATE (@5:30 p.m.):  Water service has been restored for the area of Sheridan Lake Road. However, traffic flow in the area between Springbrook Acres and Heidiway Lane will continue to be disrupted with ongoing work as crews need to backfill the repair area.

Please use caution in the affected area and allow extra time to reach destinations this evening and for daily commutes Thursday.


UPDATE (@1:30 p.m.): Crews continue to work on repairs to a water line break on Sheridan Lake Road. The northbound lane remains closed between Springbrook Acres and Heidiway Lane.

Crews are working to restore water services to residents who are affected and hope to have service restored to some residents by early Wednesday evening. Work will continue until repairs are completed and water service restored to the affected area.

Expect reduced traffic flow in the area until repairs are completed. Access to affected subdivisions is being maintained.


RAPID CITY, S.D. — Crews are on the scene Wednesday morning of a water line break on Sheridan Lake Road.

The water line break is impacting traffic and water service between Springbrook Acres and The Broadmoor.

The right, northbound lane of Sheridan Lake Road between Springbrook Acres and Carmel Point is closed. Residents east of Sheridan Lake Road in the affected area currently do not have water.

No estimate has been given on when repairs will be completed, water service restored, or traffic restrictions lifted.

Officials are asking the public to drive with caution and allow extra time to reach their destination.
