Crews battle multiple wildfires on Pine Ridge Reservation
UPDATE: (06-19-20- 7:00 p.m.) BIA Forestry and Wildland Fire Management says that the fire is 95% contained.
15 structures have been protected. The plan moving forward is to continue to mop up interior areas of the fire and strengthen the perimeter. A helicopter is assisting along with heavy equipment and fire crews.

No structures or homes were lost, and fire crews are working within COVID-19 protocols while remaining in the area to assist with mop up.
PINE RIDGE, S.D. — Fire crews from multiple agencies have been working to put out wildfires on the Pine Ridge Reservation since Tuesday.
The wild fire on Pine Ridge is currently 5% contained as of 9am this morning. There is an effort being made to bring in more resources to help.
BIA Fire is in charge of this fire with OST Emergency Management assisting.

According to a tweet from the Oglala Sioux Tribe, the wildfire on Pine Ridge is currently 5% contained as of 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Bureau of Indian Affairs Fire is in charge of this fire with OST Emergency Management assisting. Also assisting are Rosebud Agency, Martin Volunteer Fire Department, and Rushville Volunteer Fire Department. There were 10 structures protected and another 5 threatened. There is an effort being made to bring in more resources to help.
