RAPID CITY, S.D. – Cornerstone Rescue Mission held its Thanksgiving celebration, serving their residents and those who wanted to stop in for a warm meal.

Cornerstone serves Thanksgiving mealHundreds sat down together for dinner and watched the football game as laughter and joy filled the room.

Cornerstone’s leaders say it took a lot of planning, but being able to bring joy to so many hearts on this holiday made their efforts worthwhile.

Lisa T., Head Cook at Cornerstone, talked about the preparation as well as the reward.

“The residents come and help me, and they offered to volunteer, and they said that it’s because we give them so much that this is their way of giving back,” she says.

In previous years, Cornerstone has served anywhere from 300 to 500 people, and this year’s number is expected to fall in that range.
