Construction on Elk Vale Road bridge, lane closures and width restrictions beginning Monday, March 29
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Work on one of the bridges along Rapid City’s Elk Vale Road is scheduled to begin next week.
Starting Monday, the South Dakota Department of Transportation will begin work on concrete surface repairs on westbound Hwy. 16B at the Rapid Creek Bridge.
The work will include removing and replacing the approach pavement to the smooth the transition to the bridge.
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane using lane closures, and a nine-foot width restriction will be in effect until work is completed.
The construction is part of a larger project to repair bridge ends on I90 over 151st Ave and Hwy. 16B over South Dakota Hwy. 79.
Overall completion date is set for late October of this year.
