Conservative SD rancher to run for U.S. Congress

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rep. Dusty Johnson has just picked up a republican challenger for his U.S. House seat.

Liz Marty May, a rancher from Kyle, S.D., will formally announce her candidacy Saturday, Feb. 2 at noon, at the Central States Fairgrounds during the stock show.

According to her press release, 18 former and current state lawmakers have endorsed her.

The press release also says May is a staunch conservative, and a fourth generation South Dakotan with a track record of making hard decisions.
