Community members seek input on Pennington County criminal justice reform

RAPID CITY, S.D. — I AM LEGACY is a store located in the Rushmore Mall, trying to bring big changes to Rapid City’s criminal justice reform. Deputy States Attorney Carolyn Olson said “Specifically we want to give priority to two groups of people victims of crime and or their direct family members of victims of crime and the other subset would be formerly incarcerated or direct family members of formerly incarcerated.”

With these goals set in mind they are asking for more public input. They are seeking applications for their Criminal Justice Community Engagement Work group or CJCEW for short. This work group will consist of 5 to 7 community members whom the justice system has impacted and have a strong desire to engage the community regarding criminal justice reform.
