Community Health Center of the Black Hills celebrates National Health Center Week
CHCBH is a part of a national campaign that celebrates health centers rooted in communities.
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Community Health Center of the Black Hills is celebrating this week as recipients of an Executive Proclamation from Governor Kristi Noem.
They are highlighting the center’s success in managing chronic disease in medically vulnerable communities, which has helped reduce health care cost for many Americans.
Locally, Community Health has been serving health care at discounted rates and providing everything from medical, dental and mental health care to patients for over 20 years.
Tim Trithart, CEO CHCBH, says “One of the aspects of what we do is we keep the community healthy, so folks, we want to make sure they have access to basic primary care and they are not having to go to the emergency room. We also want to make sure that they are healthy and they are able to work and able to take care of their families and things like that, so it’s important that people have access to health care they can afford.”
This week, CHCBH will provide healthy snacks to all patients as well as host an employee picnic.
