Common Council to make Vision Fund duration, committee decisions Monday

City HallRAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Common Council will decide the duration for the next round of Vision Funds, as well as approve a committee next Monday.

The two items from the Mayor went before the working session Wednesday afternoon for discussion, and with no members having comment on the items, they now move to the Council’s meeting on Monday.

In a letter to the Council, Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender proposed a three-year project plan duration. He also included guidelines such as applicants must show ability to fund project up front, Vision Funds would not allowed for operational funding, and awarded projects that acquire real estate property will be owned in full or in part by the City of Rapid City. Also included in the letter was a list of thirteen applicants for the Vision Fund Citizen Committee.

Solicitation of public proposals for Vision Fund projects is proposed to run May 24 through July 23.
