College Football Roundup: No. 9 Colorado Mines rolls over SD Mines

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota School of Mines football team picked up its first conference win of the season last week with an 8-7 victory over New Mexico Highlands.

The Hardrockers closed out their 2019 home schedule Saturday by taking on the Colorado School of Mines.

Michael Zeman ran for a program-record 321 yards and four touchdowns, as the No. 9 Orediggers defeated the Hardrockers, 49-28.

The South Dakota School of Mines managed to score four times despite being held to 270 total yards.

Toby Smith was 20-of-39 for 172 yards and three scores for the Hardrockers. Plus, Ahmad Lewis ran for 102 yards and a touchdown.

The South Dakota School of Mines falls to 2-7 overall and 1-7 in the conference.

The Hardrockers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 9 against the Chadron State Eagles. The kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. in Chadron.
