COLLEGE FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Hardrockers and Yellow Jackets celebrate Homecoming victories

RAPID CITY, S.D.  –  South Dakota Mines improved to 2-0 in the RMAC for the first time in school history with a victory over New Mexico Highlands on Saturday, 41-27.

Jayden Johannsen led the Hardrockers with 452 total yards. He passed for 333 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 119 yards and two scores.

Meanwhile, Jeremiah Bridges had 108 receiving yards on six receptions and one touchdown.

South Dakota Mines improves to 2-0 in the conference and 3-1 overall.

The Hardrockers will host Black Hills State on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.

SPEARFISH, S.D. – For the first time since 1970, the Black Hills State University football team is off to a 4-0 start.

The Yellow Jackets celebrated Homecoming by defeating Colorado Mesa, 31-28.

With 43 seconds left on the clock, Chance Eben hooked up with Hasaan Williams for a 29-yard touchdown that secured the win for Black Hills State.

Overall, Eben completed 23 of 28 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile Nolan Susel rushed 21 times for 78 yards and two scores.

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Rapid City on Oct. 1 to play South Dakota Mines for the 137th Black Hills Brawl.
