College Football: Hardrockers win big in home opener

Last Saturday, the South Dakota School of Mines football time nearly upset the three-time defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Champions, Colorado Mesa.

But the Mavericks rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the Hardrockers by three points in the first game of the season.

The Hardrockers bounced back on Saturday with an impressive win in their home opener.

SD Mines defeated Western State Colorado University, 38-21.

Jake Sullivan went 23 – 38 for 237 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Connor Silveria rushed for 71 yards and two scores.

Isaiah Manley was the leading receiver with 85 yards and a touchdown.


Meanwhile, the Black Hills State University football lost its home opener to the Colorado School of Mines, 42-20.

Ryan Hommel threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns for BH. Payten Gilmore rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown.
