College Football: Hardrockers hold on to beat Adams State to clinch back-to-back winning seasons

RAPID CITY, S.D. – After a big win over Fort Lewis College, the South Dakota Mines football team returned home on Saturday to take on Adams State University.

Connor Taylor kicked a 22-yard field goal 1:50 left in the fourth quarter and the Hardrockers defeated the Grizzlies, 23-20.

With a win, the Hardrockers clinched their first back-to-back winning seasons since the 1984 and 1985 seasons.

Jayden Johannsen led South Dakota Mines with 308 yards passing, two touchdowns and one interception.

He also rushed 19 times for 78 yards.

Plus Isaiah Eastman caught eight passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

The Hardrockers improve 6-3 on the season and 5-2 in the conference.

South Dakota Mines will travel to Pueblo, CO on Saturday, Nov. 5 to play Colorado State University Pueblo.

The game is scheduled to kickoff at 2 p.m.
