Coffee with Planners

RAPID CITY, S.D. – It’s that time again! Rapid City’s Department of Community Development hosted another “Coffee with Planners” event on Wednesday.

Each quarter, the public is invited to sit down with City officials to discuss three different topics while enjoying a cup of coffee and a bagel.

Those topics included the current plans for the new Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, the City’s tax increment financing program, and the proposed revised policy. The public was also able to ask questions about a proposal to remove permitted residential land uses from the Office Commercial Zone and get clarification about what uses are permitted in residential and commercial zones.

“I think it’s just great to have that public interaction time,” said Community Development Director Ken Young.

Again, these meetings are  held on the first Wednesday of each quarter at 9 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the City/School Administration Center. The next one will be held on May, followed by August and then November.
