Coffee with Planners

RAPID CITY, S.D. – City staffers and people from the Rapid City community came together Wednesday morning to talk about the future over coffee and some  baked goods.

Rapid City’s Department of Community Development hosted its quarterly “Coffee with Planners” event at City Hall. The topics up for discussion this time around were the East Rapid City Transportation Corridor study to research existing road issues, parking information in downtown and future land use plan. This is a great opportunity for people to come and ask questions directly to the city staffer who are behind some of the major changes that come to our city.

“We always like to have the public involved in everything we do in long-range planning because it’s not just the current issues that are going on but it’s what we see in the future that are going to happen. As time goes, things change and we want to keep up with those changes. So if anybody is interested in looking at our plans online, we have those available. If you have more questions than this particular setting and you want more answers, just be sure to give us a call. We’ll be happy to sit down and visit with you about any of our plans we have going on,” said Long Range Planning Manager, Patsy Horton.

The next “Coffee with Planners” event will be hosted in August.
