Class AA SoDak 16: Stevens rallies to win five-set thriller over Brandon Valley

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Stevens has qualified for the State ‘AA’ Volleyball Tournament every year since 2000.

In fact, the Raiders defeated Sioux Falls Washington last season to win their fourth volleyball title in school history.

The Raiders kept their streak alive on Thursday night, as Stevens defeated Brandon Valley in the SoDak 16, 3-2 (24-26, 22-25, 29-27, 25-19, 15-11).

Brandon Valley was on the verge of ending the Raiders’ season.

However, Stevens rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win the final three sets.

The Raiders now advance to the State ‘AA’ Volleyball Tournament which will take place Nov. 21-23 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City.

Stevens will play No. 2 Sioux Falls O’Gorman in the opening round on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:15 p.m.
