City releases holiday schedule for city offices and operations

RAPID CITY, S.D. – In a press release on Monday, the City of Rapid City outlined holiday hours for Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

City offices will be closed and most operations and services will not be operating next Monday. The City Council meeting is moved to Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

The Rapid City Landfill will be closed next Monday. Trash collection will be adjusted as follows: Monday collection is set for Tuesday. Tuesday to Friday (July 5-8) collections will operate on a normal schedule. Leave your trash out until collected

Rapid Transit Service operations, including RapidRide, Dial-a-Ride and the City View Trolley, will also not be in service next Monday.

The Rapid City Public Library will be open Sunday and closed Independence Day. The Monument will be closed Sunday and Monday.

The City’s outdoor pools will be open normal operating hours on the holiday weekend, including Independence Day. All pools, including the Roosevelt Swim Center, will close at 6 p.m. July 4. The Roosevelt Ice Arena is closed on Independence Day.

Administrative offices at the Rapid City Police Department, Fire Department and Rapid City Regional Airport will be closed on Sunday and Monday.  Police and fire shift services will be on duty supporting local and area activities during this time.  Rapid City Regional Airport will be open.
