City of Sturgis to residents: Apply for a COVID-19 test

STURGIS, S.D. – The City of Sturgis says fewer than 100 residents have applied for post-Rally coronavirus tests.

Last month, the council approved 1,300 COVID-19 tests for city employees, residents who work front line jobs, or other businesses who request them. Up to 550 tests are also set aside to identify residents who may be asymptomatic after the Rally.

“Please, especially if you’ve rented your home out or if you’ve interacted with people, we want to make sure you get a test in. There aren’t a lot that have applied,” said Sturgis City Manage Daniel Ainslie.

The testing is set to begin in 12 days. All city employees are required to take a test. So far, businesses have applied for more than 400 tests.

To apply, residents need to fill out this form and email their submission to or deliver in person at the City Finance Office located at 1040 Harley-Davidson Way.
