City of Spearfish lifts travel restrictions

SPEARFISH, S.D.- The City of Spearfish has lifted previous travel restrictions in city limits. Authorities are urging residents to use extreme caution while traveling as conditions are not optimal.

City snow removal crews and contractors are beginning to move into residential neighborhoods, as well as maintaining priority routes to ensure they are clear of drifting and ice.

Authorities are also asking that residents move any vehicles parked on the side of neighborhood streets while removal of snow is taking place. Residents are also cautioned against blowing or pushing snow from private property onto the streets, prior to or after snow plows have made their way through your area.

Due to the amount of snow and the declared snow emergency, windrows will not be removed from driveways.

City Hall and the Recreation Center hope to be open and operating at noon today.  Please call ahead to confirm the services you are seeking are available today, before driving to these locations.
