City of Box Elder hosts family-friendly events all summer

BOX ELDER, S.D. – The City of Box Elder is trying to get people out of the house and soaking up what’s left of the summer.

For the entire summer, the city has hosted a food truck night in the city hall’s parking lot and lawn every Tuesday.

In the parking lot you can find a variety of food vendors, varying between main course vendors, alongside those selling sweet and savory treats.

For the kids there are inflatable bounce houses and slides and other activities to keep them active and occupied.

Every couple of weeks during the summer the City of Box Elder also hosts “Movies in the Box.”

People can bring blankets, lawn chairs, and watch a movie on the lawn via a projector.

The next movie night will be on Friday, Sept. 4; where they will be showing the 1995 version of Jumanji.

The next food truck night will be on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
