City crews responding to Highway 16, Skyline Drive water line break

Residential and business customers will experience disrupted service or low pressure until repairs are complete.

RAPID CITY, S.D. — On Monday, the City of Rapid City reported that a water line break is affecting water pressure for residential and business customers along the areas of Highway 16 and Skyline Drive.

The city says that the water line break was reported early Monday afternoon and that crews are at the scene. There is no time frame for when repairs will be completed.

Customers from Highwood Road to Promise Lane on Highway 16 and the Enchanted Hills area will be without water service as crews continue to repair the broken lines. Reduced water flows will be experienced by customers south of Promise Lane on Highway 16, and near Reptile Gardens.

The city reports that the service road on the west side of Highway 16 will be closed, but other traffic is not expected to be impacted. Drivers are advised to use caution in the affected area.
