Choo Choo Sneak Preview offered at South Dakota State Railroad Museum
The South Dakota State Railroad Museum is thinking outside of the boxcar amid COVID-19 pandemic and offering a Choo-Choo Sneak Preview for a personalized tour for participants.
Curator Rick Mills will guide the more personalized tour which will be only offered on weekends and slotted times. Groups of 8 attendees can tour the facility for a socially distanced one hour viewing and a person Q & Q session with refreshments provided.
Participants must be 12 years and up and must also wear protective masks. Attendees will also get to experience the new Dakota Depot exhibit with interactive displays.
Rick Mills, the SDSRM Director and Curator, says, “You get to get in a caboose, you get to see our new depot exhibits, see the model trains and see all the new exhibits that we have put together here at the museum for this year.”
2020 is the Museum’s 10 year anniversary, their planned celebration in May will be postponed until September. They will offer this tour through June 1 -that’s when annual hours and admission begin.
