HOT SPRINGS, S.D. — The Mammoth Site is inviting the public to an Open House and Membership Drive set to take place Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to view new exhibits at the Mammoth Site that include “Pronghorn of North America,” the interactive AR sandbox and stream table and the Bonebed, for those who haven’t visited recently and can see the changes made to the active paleontological dig site.

“We also hope attendees will consider becoming a member of The Mammoth Site,” said Presston Gabel, COO of The Mammoth Site. “The money raised from the memberships allows us to continue our research and public education about the last Ice Age. There are many member benefits that you will learn about on the 13th.”

Hot dogs and snow cones will also be available, courtesy of the Bonebed Bistro, and visitors will have the chance to win door prizes.

The new Nick Cirincione Learning Center will be dedicated at 6 p.m. Cirincione was a long-time Earthwatch volunteer, donor and friend of The Mammoth Site, who worked with Director of Research Dr. Jim Mead to help further The Mammoth Site’s research endeavors.
