Chapel in the Hills Holiday Lights
The Chapel in the Hills is getting festive with holiday decorating
RAPID CITY, S.D. – This time of year brings many ways to celebrate the holiday season, and the Chapel in the Hills is getting into the Christmas spirit.
The chapel and grounds will be decorated for the Advent and Christmas season, with an Advent worship Dec. 9 at 5 p.m.
The gift shop will be open Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Visitors are welcome to the chapel for viewing holiday lights from dusk to 9 p.m. every Friday through Sunday until Dec. 30.
Brian Kringen, co-managing director of Chapel in the Hills, says, “People are invited to come up and either just drive up in our driveway and look at it in the comfort of their own cars or stop and park and go up, and the chapel itself is decorated. And there’s Christmas carols playing in there and the spotlights just make the chapel glow. It’s an amazing sight if you haven’t been up here for that.”
The chapel is an exact replica of the famous Stavkirke of Norway.
