Cavalier Classic: STM girls basketball team avoids upset

Cavaliers rally in the fourth quarter to beat Aberdeen Roncalli

RAPID CITY, S.D.  –  Despite injuries, the St. Thomas More girls basketball team opened the 2018 Cavalier Classic on Friday with a 19 point win over over the Madision Bulldogs.

Haleigh Timmer led the Cavaliers with 21 points.

The top-ranked Cavaliers were hoping to stay perfect on the year as they played No. 4 Aberdeen Roncalli on Saturday evening.

St. Thomas More fell behind by 12 points late in the second quarter. But STM rallied in the second half to beat Aberdeen Roncalli, 40-34.

St. Thomas More improves to 5-0 on the season. The Cavaliers will hit the road on January 4-5 for games against Elk Point-Jefferson and Tea Area.
