Cars and Coffee event raises funds for local veterans

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Car enthusiasts were able to show off their ride, talk cars and sip coffee for a good cause Saturday morning.

Orchestrated by Cars and Coffee Black Hills, all makes, models and ages were invited to the special event to raise funds for local veterans through donations and raffle tickets.

Organizer Jeremiah Lewis says the driving force for choosing a local chapter was intentional.

“This benefit is for the disabled american veterans the local chapter in Rapid City, Chapter 3,” says Lewis. “Part of the reason we chose them is because all of the proceeds stay local. 100 percent stays local which a lot of the other benefits that we looked at couldn’t say that.”

The non-profit group meets once a month, every third Saturday at different coffee shops in the Black Hills.

Cars and Coffee is a national event held in all parts of the country.
